LBWF is a major partner to our charity. We work in partnership with a number of departments in delivering services, strategy planning and we receive funding through a contract to deliver Children and Family Centre services. We work with many dedicated practitioners and value the contribution and support we receive from local politicians.
Health Exercise and Nutrition for the Really Young (HENRY) National charity HENRY is running a new parent and family service in Waltham Forest called Best Start. The Best Start service supports families with children aged 0-5 years to provide the best and healthiest start in life for their child. This service covers four key themes:
Infant feeding (breast, bottle and mixed feeding)
Speech & language
If you’re interested in finding out more about how they can help you, the first step is to call them or go along to their next neighbourhood drop-in session. They can identify the best support for your family: for example this could be a place on our Steps to Speaking course, going to a healthy weight workshop, a dental outreach session or a home visit for infant feeding support.
Get in touch The HENRY team will be happy to talk to you if you have any concerns about your child in the issues covered by their service, or point you in the right direction for further support.
North East London Foundation Trust (NELFT) NELFT Health visiting teams are working closely with our Children and Family Centre partners to help all children achieve the Best Start in life.
They offer daily child health promotion clinics within the centres where families can access advice and support around all aspects of their child’s health, development and behaviour.
They deliver the Healthy Child Programme to all children, and offer support to antenatal mothers and new parents, with health reviews at one and two years being offered within the children’s centres as well as within local health centres.
And they support families to manage their health needs, with all families having access to their services, which are delivered by teams of qualified Health visitors, Staff Nurses and Community Nursery Nurses.
